    Jerry began practicing law in 1976 after passing the Illinois Bar. He attended Illinois State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History. He then received his Juris Doctorate degree from The University of Memphis in 1976. Jerry’s area of concentration includes personal injury, worker’s compensation, major civil and criminal litigation, divorce, family law, traffic, Wills and Estates and various general litigation and practice including representing governmental bodies.

    Jerry has countless hours of experience in the courtroom. He is sought out for his great reputation and service. His corporate accounts include Quincy Township, Village of Ursa and the Town of New Canton. Jerry is a member of the Illinois Township Attorneys, Illinois State Bar Association, and Adams County Bar Association, and is a Past President of the Adams County Bar Association. Jerry currently has one great assistant: Shannon Regnier. She is an invaluable member of the team.

    Jerry is married to Laura (Grayson) Timmerwilke and they have two (2) children: Jill and John. Jill is a grant administrator who lives with her husband, an Army helicopter pilot and their daughter in El Paso, Texas. John received his doctorate degree from the University of Florida in physics and is employed at IBM in Research Development in New York.

    Jerry is a member of the Knights of Columbus and the University of Memphis Alumni Association. He is an avid tennis player, jogger/walker and occasional golfer.

    Denny started practicing in 1995 after earning his Juris Doctorate degree from Southern Illinois University School of Law. He attended Western Illinois University where he received both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in political science. While attending Western Illinois University, Denny was elected into several National Honor Societies and fraternities, including Blue Key, Outstanding College Students of America, Phi Sigma Alpha, Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Eta Sigma, Phi Theta Kappa, and Mortar Board. While attending Western Illinois University, Denny was also a member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity.

    During his summer and holiday breaks, Denny clerked for the Eighth Judicial Circuit Judges as well as at BTW, which gave him invaluable experience. Upon graduation from SIU, Denny joined BTW fulltime. His areas of legal concentration include divorce and family law, personal injury, worker’s compensation, criminal law, civil litigation, and traffic matters, including DUI charges.

    He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, American Bar Association, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, Adams County Bar Association, Ursa Lion’s Club, Mendon Masonic Lodge No. 449, Scottish Rite, Ansar Shriner’s Skeeter Patrol, and the Sodbusters Fundraising Committee.

    Denny is married to Amber. Denny has two sons, Devin and Noah, and a stepdaughter, Avery. He is a dirt late model racer, and when he is not in the courtroom, you can find him on the Tri-State area racetracks. He is a member of the UMP Late Model Dirt Track Racing Association and the IMCA Racing Association.

  • Erin Wilson Laegeler joined our firm this month. She comes to us after clerking for the Honorable Joe Billy McDade of the Central District of Illinois for the past four years; prior to that, she served as an Assistant Appellate Prosecutor for the Illinois State’s Attorney’s Appellate Prosecutor’s Office and as a Research Attorney for the Fourth District of the Illinois Appellate Court.

    Erin is an alumna of the University of Illinois Springfield, where she obtained a dual B.A. in Legal Studies and Political Science, and the Charlotte School of Law, where she obtained her J.D. In law school, she was involved in several extracurriculars including Law Review, Moot Court, Phi Delta Phi. Currently, she serves as Vice President for the Central Illinois Women’s Bar Association and is a mentor in the Illinois State Bar Association’s Lawyer-to-Lawyer Mentorship Program.

    Erin lives in Rushville with her husband, newly elected Schuyler County State’s Attorney Chuck Laegeler. As animal lovers, they have a menagerie of pets including five dogs and a cat to keep them busy in their free time.
